Practical information

Le Corbier is a ski resort in the Northern Alps range, in the Sybelles, Savoie. The ski area stretches over 310 km of runs between 1,550 m and 2,265 m, served by 61 lifts. Day lift pass 59€ per adult.

* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.

ℹ️ These figures refer to the Les Sybelles ski area, which is shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they should not be added together.

Did you know?
Built at record speed — first works in 1966, opening in December 1967 — it is a third-generation "integrated resort", 100% pedestrian and ski-in/ski-out, with a covered shopping gallery linking the top and bottom of the resort.
Its buildings bear names that reflect the space-race era: Ariane, Spoutnik, Soyouz, Baïkonour, Cosmos, Pégase...
The project was born out of urgency: the village of Villarembert was emptying, the school had only seven pupils left, and the prefect proposed merging it with the neighbouring commune.

✍️ Our view of Le Corbier

Le Corbier is one of the few resorts offering more than 310 km of runs — a colossal ski area that even the fastest skiers don't cover in a week. With 61 lifts and 41 listed runs, it is a destination that can absorb all visitor flows without ever feeling crowded. Le Corbier's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Le Corbier's altitude (1,550 m at the base, 2,265 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay at Le Corbier is clearly high: €59 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but be aware of it before you go. In short: Le Corbier keeps its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.

🏔️ Les Sybelles

Six Maurienne resorts that merged their ski areas in 2003 around the Ouillon summit, instantly creating one of France's largest ski areas. La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, Saint-Jean-d'Arves, Les Bottières and Saint-Colomban share the same lift pass and the same runs — it is impossible to tell where one ends and the next begins. It is a very sunny ski area, dominated by the silhouette of the Aiguilles d'Arves, with a majority of blue and red runs that make it an ideal place to progress as a family. Prices remain noticeably gentler than in the big Tarentaise resorts.
