Practical information

Les Bottières is a ski resort in the Northern Alps massif, in the Sybelles, Savoie. The ski area spans 310 km of runs between 1,450 m and 2,400 m, served by 61 lifts. Day lift pass 59€ per adult.

* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.

ℹ️ These figures refer to the Les Sybelles ski area, which is shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they should not be added together.

Did you know?
A small village-resort on a sunny ledge above Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, Les Bottières is one of the six resorts brought together in 2003 to create the Sybelles ski area.
This merger was the work of one man, the operator Gaston Maulin, who for years championed the project of linking these scattered village-resorts into a single large ski area.

✍️ Our view of Les Bottières

Les Bottières is one of the rare resorts offering more than 310 km of runs, a vast area that even the fastest skiers could not cover in a week. With 61 lifts and 9 listed runs, it is a destination that can absorb all kinds of visitor numbers without ever feeling crowded. Les Bottières has managed to keep the identity of an authentic mountain village, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, the unspoiled landscapes and a friendly atmosphere that stands apart from the industrialised skiing of some of the big ski areas. The altitude of Les Bottières (1,450 m at the base, 2,400 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in the depths of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Les Bottières is clearly high: a day lift pass at 59€, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Les Bottières delivers on its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most types of skier without disappointing.

🏔️ Les Sybelles

Six Maurienne resorts that merged their ski areas in 2003 around the Ouillon summit, instantly creating one of France's largest ski areas. La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, Saint-Jean-d'Arves, Les Bottières and Saint-Colomban share the same lift pass and the same runs — it is impossible to tell where one ends and the next begins. It is a very sunny ski area, dominated by the silhouette of the Aiguilles d'Arves, with a majority of blue and red runs that make it an ideal place to progress as a family. Prices remain noticeably gentler than in the big Tarentaise resorts.
