ℹ️ These figures refer to the Les Sybelles ski area, which is shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they should not be added together.

Did you know?
The village nestles at the foot of the Col de la Croix de Fer, one of the legendary passes of the Tour de France, facing the three Aiguilles d'Arves, the jagged silhouette emblematic of the Maurienne, and the Étendard glacier.
The village's dairy cooperative in the Arves valley can be visited: you follow every stage of beaufort production and go down into the ageing cellars.
The Sybelles ski area, of which Saint-Sorlin is one of the gateways, was born in 2003 from the linking of six village resorts.

✍️ Our verdict on Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves

Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is one of the rare resorts offering more than 310 km of pistes, a vast area that even the fastest skiers cannot cover in a week. With 61 lifts and 41 runs listed, it is a destination able to absorb every flow of visitors without ever feeling crowded. Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves' family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-maintained green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for learning to ski with children. With a summit at 2,620 m and a village at 1,600 m, snow reliability at Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly once serious snowfalls arrive. A stay in Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is clearly on the expensive side: €59 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and high-altitude restaurants that are among the dearest in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but it is worth knowing before you go. In short: Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves is one of those rare resorts that combines a real village, a sincere family atmosphere and pistes suited to everyone. It is hard to get your stay wrong here.

🏔️ Les Sybelles

Six Maurienne resorts that merged their ski areas in 2003 around the Ouillon summit, instantly creating one of France's largest ski areas. La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves, Saint-Jean-d'Arves, Les Bottières and Saint-Colomban share the same lift pass and the same runs — it is impossible to tell where one ends and the next begins. It is a very sunny ski area, dominated by the silhouette of the Aiguilles d'Arves, with a majority of blue and red runs that make it an ideal place to progress as a family. Prices remain noticeably gentler than in the big Tarentaise resorts.
