ℹ️ These figures refer to the Grandvalira ski area, shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.

About Soldeu

The 215 km, 74 lifts and lift pass shown are those of the entire Grandvalira ski area, shared by its six sectors (Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp). Soldeu is Grandvalira's main village-resort, at 1,800 m, in the Incles valley. Its sector is the largest in the ski area, and its Avet piste, the most iconic, hosted the World Cup alpine skiing finals in March 2019. The village is home to hotels, ski schools and nightlife, making it the most complete base for discovering the 215 km of Grandvalira, the largest ski area in the Pyrenees.

✍️ Our verdict on Soldeu

With its 215 km of runs, the Soldeu ski area offers something for every profile: big enough that you won't run out of terrain during a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 74 lifts let you link runs together without long queues. Soldeu's DNA is high end: the accommodation, mountain restaurants and resort services reflect a clientele that doesn't count the cost. At 69€ for a day lift pass, the trip comes at a price, but the experience lives up to it for anyone who wants to indulge without compromise. With a summit at 2,640 m and a village at 1,800 m, Soldeu's snow reliability is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can create tension early in the season, but conditions recover quickly with the first significant snowfalls. The budget for a stay in Soldeu is clearly high: 69€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but be aware of it before you go. In short: Soldeu isn't for everyone, but for those who can afford it, it is probably one of the best skiing experiences in Europe.

🏔️ Grandvalira

Grandvalira is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees: 215 km of runs between 1710 and 2,640 m, linking from east to west Pas de la Casa, on the French border, Grau Roig, Soldeu and El Tarter, while Canillo and Encamp are reached by gondola from the valley. The area hosted the Alpine Skiing World Cup finals in 2019 on the Avet run at Soldeu. Each sector has its own personality, from the lively, technical Pas de la Casa to the more family-friendly El Tarter, and Andorra adds its own perks: plenty of accommodation and duty-free shops.
