Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Ordino Arcalís focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than impressive numbers. Its 30 km of runs suit a stay of 3 to 4 days particularly well, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Technical terrain is king at Ordino Arcalís: with 2 black runs and 11 red runs on offer, confirmed skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Off-piste and freeride are practised here in often excellent conditions, thanks to the altitude and the exposure of the slopes. With a summit at 2,625 m and a village at 1,940 m, snow reliability at Ordino Arcalís is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can create difficulties early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly once substantial snowfalls arrive. The day lift pass at €49 places Ordino Arcalís in the mid-range category on price — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Ordino Arcalís does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
