About Pas de la Casa

The 215 km, 74 lifts and lift pass shown are those of the entire Grandvalira ski area, shared by its six sectors (Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp). Pas de la Casa is Grandvalira's highest village, at 2,100 m, right on the French border where the Ariège valley opens out. It is the natural gateway to the ski area for skiers coming from France. Its runs, among the most technical in Grandvalira, all start above 2,000 m, which ensures good snow cover. The village is also known for its lively nightlife and duty-free shops.

✍️ Our verdict on Pas de la Casa

The Pas de la Casa ski area, with its 215 km of runs, offers a great choice for every type of skier: large enough not to go round in circles for a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 74 lifts let you link descents without long waits. The resort is known for its lively après-ski — bars, concerts at the foot of the slopes, an international atmosphere as soon as the lifts close. If you want to enjoy the mountain by day as much as the evenings, Pas de la Casa is clearly one of the best options in its range. With a summit at 2,640 m and a village at 2,100 m, snow cover at Pas de la Casa is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause tension early in the season, but conditions soon recover with the first significant snowfalls. The budget for a stay at Pas de la Casa is clearly high: 69€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Pas de la Casa lives up to its promises. A Pyrenean resort that will suit most skiers without disappointing.

🏔️ Grandvalira

Grandvalira is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees: 215 km of runs between 1710 and 2,640 m, linking from east to west Pas de la Casa, on the French border, Grau Roig, Soldeu and El Tarter, while Canillo and Encamp are reached by gondola from the valley. The area hosted the Alpine Skiing World Cup finals in 2019 on the Avet run at Soldeu. Each sector has its own personality, from the lively, technical Pas de la Casa to the more family-friendly El Tarter, and Andorra adds its own perks: plenty of accommodation and duty-free shops.
