About Porte-Puymorens

The lift pass is shared with the neighbouring resorts of Formiguères and Cambre d'Aze (Trio Pyrénées): same price, valid at either one. These are, however, separate ski areas that are not linked on skis, so a pass only gives access to one resort per day. Porte-Puymorens is a resort at 1,600 m in the Pyrénées-Orientales, on the border with Andorra. Its 30 km of runs enjoy good snow thanks to the Col de Puymorens (1,920 m). A family resort close to Font-Romeu and to Andorra for shopping.

✍️ Our verdict on Porte-Puymorens

A resort on a human scale, Porte-Puymorens focuses on warm welcomes and proximity rather than impressive figures. Its 50 km of runs are well suited to a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially for families or skiers who don't need to keep changing their terrain. Porte-Puymorens' family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for children's first steps on skis. Porte-Puymorens' altitude (1,600 m at the base, 2,450 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. At 40€, the day lift pass places Porte-Puymorens among the mid-range resorts on budget: neither cheap nor exorbitant. For most skiers, the quality of the ski area and facilities justifies the price. In short, Porte-Puymorens keeps its promises well. A Pyrenean resort that will suit most types of skier without disappointing.
