ℹ️ These figures refer to the Grandvalira ski area, shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.

About Encamp

The 215 km, 74 lifts and lift pass shown cover the whole Grandvalira ski area, shared by its six sectors (Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp). Encamp, at 1,300 m in the central valley, is linked to the Grandvalira ski area by the Funicamp, a gondola of more than 6 km that climbs towards the Grau Roig sector. It is a practical and more economical base, close to Andorra la Vella and its shops. As in Canillo, the return is made by gondola, not on skis.

✍️ Our verdict on Encamp

The Encamp ski area, with its 215 km of runs, offers a fine range for all types of skier: large enough not to go round in circles for a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 74 lifts make it possible to chain descents together without long waits. Encamp's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for laying the foundations of skiing with children. With a summit at 2,640 m and a village at 1,300 m, Encamp's snow cover is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters may cause tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly with the first significant snowfalls. The budget for a stay in Encamp is clearly high: 69€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Encamp is one of those rare resorts that combines a real village, a sincere family atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It is hard to have a bad stay here.

🏔️ Grandvalira

Grandvalira is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees: 215 km of runs between 1710 and 2,640 m, linking from east to west Pas de la Casa, on the French border, Grau Roig, Soldeu and El Tarter, while Canillo and Encamp are reached by gondola from the valley. The area hosted the Alpine Skiing World Cup finals in 2019 on the Avet run at Soldeu. Each sector has its own personality, from the lively, technical Pas de la Casa to the more family-friendly El Tarter, and Andorra adds its own perks: plenty of accommodation and duty-free shops.
