The 123 km, 47 lifts and lift pass shown are those of the 4-Berge-Skischaukel ski area, shared by Schladming, Haus im Ennstal and Pichl – Reiteralm. Part of the Ski amadé network: multi-day Ski amadé passes also give access to the other ski areas in the network, which are not linked to one another, including Flachau, Zauchensee, Bad Gastein, Maria Alm and Schladming. The piste breakdown is given as a percentage of the kilometres for each difficulty level. Haus im Ennstal gives access to the Hauser Kaibling, which is linked to the Planai and the rest of the 4-Berge-Skischaukel. The village co-hosted the 1982 World Championships.

✍️ Our verdict on Haus im Ennstal

Haus im Ennstal offers 123 km of well-marked pistes, a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 47 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the crowds in high season. Haus im Ennstal's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The altitude of Haus im Ennstal (750 m at the base, 2,015 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Haus im Ennstal is clearly on the expensive side: €79 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Haus im Ennstal lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most skiers without disappointing.
