The run split is given as a percentage of the kilometres in each difficulty level. The Rittisberg faces the Dachstein's cliffs, above the Ramsau plateau, a renowned cross-country skiing centre that hosted the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our verdict on Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg

Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg is a modest, low-key resort: 12.9 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The modest altitude of Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg, with the village at 1,035 m and the summit at 1,636 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking the snow reports before setting off is strongly advised. Budgeting for a stay at Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg is clearly on the high side: 54€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you set off. In short: Ramsau am Dachstein – Rittisberg does not rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underestimated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
