ℹ️ These figures refer to the Morzine – Les Gets ski area, shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
Morzine is an authentic Savoyard village at 1,000 m, one of the gateways to the Portes du Soleil (600 km, 12 resorts). Linked directly to Avoriaz by gondola, it offers a rare blend of village atmosphere and high-level skiing. Also recognised as the downhill mountain biking world capital in summer.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Morzine prioritises quality of welcome and closeness over impressive figures. Its 50 km of runs are ideal for a 3- to 4-day stay, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly find new terrain. Morzine's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Morzine's altitude (1,000 m at the bottom, 2,466 m at the top) helps it keep decent snow cover through mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Morzine is clearly on the expensive side: a day lift pass costs 56€, on top of accommodation and mountain restaurants among the priciest in the Alps. That's the price of excellence — but it's worth knowing before you go. In short: Morzine is one of those rare resorts that combines a genuine village, a sincere family atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It's hard to get your stay wrong here.
🏔️ Les Portes du Soleil
Twelve resorts, two countries, one lift pass: the Portes du Soleil was born in 1964 from a handful of French and Swiss mayors who had the slightly crazy idea of linking their villages across the border. The result is like a giant playground: you start the morning in Avoriaz, have lunch in Switzerland, and head back via Châtel in the evening without ever taking your skis off. The area is more rural than its Savoyard neighbours: many runs through the forest, villages that have kept their church steeples and farms, and the famous Mur suisse at Chavanette for those who like a thrill. Be aware that not everything is linked 100% by ski: a few shuttle buses complete the network.
