The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
Les Gets is a charming Savoyard village at 1,172 m, part of the Portes du Soleil (600 km). A family resort par excellence, it is home to France's only Musée de la Musique Mécanique. Its well-groomed runs suit all levels, in an authentic village setting without concrete architecture.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Les Gets offers 120 km of well-marked runs, a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 42 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the flow in high season. Les Gets' family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-maintained green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Les Gets' altitude (1,172 m at the bottom, 2,002 m at the top) helps it keep a decent snow cover in the depths of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. A budget for a stay in Les Gets is clearly high: €56 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Les Gets is one of those rare resorts that combines a real village, a sincerely family-friendly atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It's hard to get your stay wrong here.
🏔️ Les Portes du Soleil
Twelve resorts, two countries, one lift pass: the Portes du Soleil was born in 1964 from a handful of French and Swiss mayors who had the slightly crazy idea of linking their villages across the border. The result is like a giant playground: you start the morning in Avoriaz, have lunch in Switzerland, and head back via Châtel in the evening without ever taking your skis off. The area is more rural than its Savoyard neighbours: many runs through the forest, villages that have kept their church steeples and farms, and the famous Mur suisse at Chavanette for those who like a thrill. Be aware that not everything is linked 100% by ski: a few shuttle buses complete the network.
