Practical information

Les Arcs is a ski resort in the Northern Alps range, in Tarentaise, Savoie. The ski area stretches over 200 km of runs between 1,800 m and 3,226 m, served by 61 lifts. Day lift pass 71€ per adult.

* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.

ℹ️ These figures refer to the Les Arcs – Peisey-Vallandry ski area, shared by several resorts: run length, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the neighbouring resort pages therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass, so they should not be added together.

About Les Arcs
Les Arcs ski runs

Les Arcs is a purpose-built resort rising in tiers from 1,200 to 2,000 m, designed by Charlotte Perriand in the 1960s. With La Plagne it forms Paradiski (425 km), linked by the Vanoise Express. A pedestrian, family-friendly and accessible resort, it has 53 lifts and runs for all levels, set in a preserved Savoyard landscape.

Did you know?
The resort was born from the meeting of Robert Blanc, a high-mountain guide and shepherd from Tarentaise, and Roger Godino, a Polytechnique graduate who discovered the site in 1961 and decided to build a resort there.
It is the major work of Charlotte Perriand, the legendary designer who worked with Le Corbusier: from 1967 until the end of the 1980s, she directed the architecture of Les Arcs (with advice from Jean Prouvé), conceiving the famous stepped buildings that follow the slope. A heritage now recognised worldwide.

✍️ Our verdict on Les Arcs

The Les Arcs ski area, with its 200 km of runs, offers a great choice for every profile: large enough that you won't go round in circles for a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 61 lifts let you link runs without long queues. Les Arcs' family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. As for snow reliability, Les Arcs is in a strong position with its highest point at 3,226 m: even in tricky winters, the upper runs hold up well until April. The village at 1,800 m is also well placed to offer comfortable conditions from mid-December. The budget for a stay in Les Arcs is clearly high: 71€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Les Arcs lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.

🏔️ Paradiski

La Plagne and Les Arcs had always looked at each other across the valley without being able to connect. In 2003, the Vanoise Express solved the problem: two 200-seat cabins that cross 1.8 km of empty space in four minutes, one of the largest cable cars in the world. Suddenly, 425 km of linked runs. The two resorts keep very different identities – La Plagne spread across ten villages from 1250 to 2,100 m, Les Arcs lined up on a balcony-like slope facing Mont Blanc. Peisey-Vallandry, at the foot of the cable car, is the discreet, wooded link between the two.
