Practical information

Peisey-Vallandry is a ski resort in the Northern Alps range, in Tarentaise, Savoie. The ski area stretches over 60 km of runs between 1,600 m and 3,226 m, served by 18 lifts. Day lift pass €70 per adult.

* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.

ℹ️ These figures refer to the Les Arcs – Peisey-Vallandry ski area, shared by several resorts: run length, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the neighbouring resort pages therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass, so they should not be added together.

About Peisey-Vallandry

Peisey-Vallandry is a village resort at 1,600 m in Tarentaise, part of the Paradiski area (425 km with Les Arcs and La Plagne). It is an authentic village with a fine Savoyard baroque heritage, with direct access to Les Arcs by gondola, in a preserved natural setting on the edge of the Vanoise.

This is where the Vanoise Express departs, one of the largest cable cars in the world: two two-deck cabins of 200 people each, which cross the Ponturin valley almost flat, with no intermediate pylon, 380 m above the ground and at 45 km/h. Crossing time: under 4 minutes.
Inaugurated at the end of 2003, it's the lift that gave birth to Paradiski by linking Les Arcs and La Plagne — over 400 km of runs in one go.

✍️ Our verdict on Peisey-Vallandry

A resort on a human scale, Peisey-Vallandry focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 60 km of runs are ideal for a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially with family or for skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Peisey-Vallandry's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. On snow, Peisey-Vallandry is in a strong position with its highest point at 3,226 m — even in capricious winters, the upper runs hold up well into April. The village at 1,600 m is also well placed to guarantee comfortable conditions from mid-December. The budget for a stay in Peisey-Vallandry is clearly high: 70€ for a day lift pass, on top of which come accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence — but you should be aware of it before setting off. In short: Peisey-Vallandry is one of those rare resorts that combines a real village, a sincerely family atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It's hard to miss your stay here.

La Plagne and Les Arcs had always looked at each other across the valley without being able to connect. In 2003, the Vanoise Express solved the problem: two 200-seat cabins that cross 1.8 km of empty space in four minutes, one of the largest cable cars in the world. Suddenly, 425 km of linked runs. The two resorts keep very different identities – La Plagne spread across ten villages from 1250 to 2,100 m, Les Arcs lined up on a balcony-like slope facing Mont Blanc. Peisey-Vallandry, at the foot of the cable car, is the discreet, wooded link between the two.
