About Dienten

The 120 km, 34 lifts and lift pass shown are those of the Hochkönig ski area, shared by Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Part of the Ski amadé network: multi-day Ski amadé passes also give access to the network's other, unconnected ski areas, including Flachau, Zauchensee, Bad Gastein, Maria Alm and Großarl. Run distribution is given as a percentage of the kilometres for each difficulty. Dienten is a small village in the middle of the Hochkönig ski area, between Maria Alm and Mühlbach.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our verdict on Dienten

Dienten offers 120 km of well-marked runs, a mid-sized ski area that is ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 34 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the flow in high season. Dienten's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-maintained green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Dienten's moderate altitude, with its base at 1,071 m and summit at 1,900 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking the snow reports before you leave is strongly recommended. The budget for a stay in Dienten is clearly high: 79€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you need to be aware of it before you go. In short: Dienten keeps its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most skiers without disappointing.
