✍️ Our verdict on Gerlos

The Gerlos ski area, with its 150 km of runs, offers a strong choice for every type of skier: large enough not to go round in circles for a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 52 lifts make it easy to link descents without long queues. Gerlos has kept the identity of an authentic mountain village, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, unspoilt scenery and a friendly atmosphere that stands apart from the industrialised skiing of some large ski areas. With a summit at 2,500 m and a village at 1,245 m, snow reliability at Gerlos is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause strain early in the season, but conditions recover quickly with the first serious snowfalls. The budget for a stay in Gerlos is clearly high: 82€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but it's worth knowing before you go. In short: Gerlos keeps its promises. A resort in the Northern Alps that will suit most skiers without disappointing.
