✍️ Our verdict on Hochkrimml

Hochkrimml's 150 km of runs make for a good offer for every type of skier: large enough that you won't run out of things to do over a week, yet compact enough to find your favourite sectors easily. The 52 lifts let you string together descents without long waits. Hochkrimml has kept the identity of an authentic mountain village, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the fresh air, the unspoilt landscapes and a friendly atmosphere that stands apart from the industrialisation of skiing in some large ski areas. With a summit at 2,500 m and a village at 1,650 m, snow cover in Hochkrimml is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly with the first heavy snowfalls. The budget for a stay in Hochkrimml is clearly high: €82 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Hochkrimml keeps its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most skiers without disappointing.
