Candanchú is a ski resort in the Pyrenees range, in the Aragon Valley, Aragon, Spain 🇪🇸. The ski area spreads over 50 km of runs between 1,530 m and 2,400 m, served by 22 lifts. Day lift pass 56€ per adult.
* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.
The “100K” lift pass is shared with Astún, the neighbouring resort: one ticket gives access to both ski areas, about 100 km of runs. They are not yet linked on skis; a connecting gondola is under construction, with commissioning announced for late 2027. The distances and runs shown here concern Candanchú only. Set 1 km from the Somport pass, Candanchú is one of the very first ski resorts developed in Spain. Its 50 km of runs, from 1,530 to 2,400 m, have a reputation for being demanding: steep slopes and couloirs such as the Tubo de la Zapatilla have built its fame among good skiers. The lower part of the resort does, however, offer a real beginner zone. Nearby runs the Way of St James, with the ruins of the Santa Cristina hospital that once welcomed pilgrims.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Candanchú focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 50 km of runs suit a stay of 3 to 4 days particularly well, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Candanchú's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a relaxed atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Candanchú's altitude (1,530 m at the bottom, 2,400 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Candanchú is clearly expensive: 56€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Candanchú lives up to its promises. A resort in the Pyrenees that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
