Panticosa is a ski resort in the Pyrenees range, in Tena Valley, Aragon, Spain 🇪🇸. The ski area stretches over 39 km of runs between 1,145 m and 2,200 m, served by 15 lifts. Day lift pass €52 per adult.
* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.
The 'Formigal-Panticosa' pass is shared with Formigal: a single ticket gives access to both ski areas, 182 km of runs in total. The two resorts are not linked on skis, though, so you have to drive between them. A cheaper pass valid at Panticosa only also exists, and it is the one shown here. Panticosa is a village in the Tena valley, at 1,150 m, whose ski area climbs up to 2,200 m. A gondola leaves the village for the Petrosos sector, where most services and the beginner zone are concentrated, and the Estrimal run lets you ski all the way back down to the village. Higher up the valley, the Balneario de Panticosa, a high-altitude spa, rounds off a stay here.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A human-scale resort, Panticosa focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 39 km of runs are ideal for a 3- to 4-day stay, especially for families or skiers who don't need to keep changing their playground. Panticosa's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Panticosa's altitude (1,145 m at the base, 2,200 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Panticosa is clearly high: €52 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and high-altitude restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Panticosa is one of the rare resorts that combines a genuine village, a sincere family atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It's hard to get your stay wrong here.
