Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Alpe Cermis is a modest, low-key resort with 24 km of runs, offering an intimate skiing experience far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where you come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Alpe Cermis's family-friendly reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a good-natured atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Alpe Cermis's altitude (860 m at the bottom, 2,250 m at the top) helps it keep a decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Alpe Cermis is clearly on the expensive side: 71€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but be aware of it before you go. In short, Alpe Cermis doesn't rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
