Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Carezza is a resort on a human scale, focusing on the quality of welcome and closeness rather than impressive figures. Its 40 km of runs suit a 3–4 day stay perfectly, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Carezza's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Carezza's altitude (1,182 m at the bottom, 2,337 m at the top) helps it keep decent snow cover through midwinter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Carezza is clearly high: 72€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but be aware of it before you set off. In short: Carezza doesn't rival the ski giants, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
