✍️ Our verdict on St. Gallenkirch

St. Gallenkirch offers 141.6 km of well-marked runs — an intermediate-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 35 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the crowds in high season. St. Gallenkirch's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. St. Gallenkirch's altitude (878 m at the bottom, 2,430 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in St. Gallenkirch is clearly on the expensive side: 77€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the priciest in the Alps. It's the price of quality — but be aware of it before you go. In short: St. Gallenkirch lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most skier profiles without disappointing.
