ℹ️ These figures refer to the Silvretta Montafon ski area, which is shared by several resorts: run kilometres, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
The 141.6 km, 35 lifts and pass price shown are those of the Silvretta Montafon ski area, shared by Schruns, St. Gallenkirch and Gaschurn. Multi-day Montafon Brandnertal passes also give access to neighbouring areas that are not linked by ski, including Golm, Gargellen and Brand – Brandnertal. The breakdown of runs is given as a percentage of the kilometres of each difficulty. Schruns is the main village of the Montafon. The Hochjoch gondola climbs from here towards Silvretta Montafon. Ernest Hemingway spent two winters here in the 1920s.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Schruns offers 141.6 km of well-marked runs — a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 35 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the flow in high season. Schruns' family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-organised childcare, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Schruns' altitude (690 m at the bottom, 2,430 m at the top) allows a decent snow cover in the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is wise to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Schruns is clearly high: €77 for a day pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but you should be aware of it before you set off. In short: Schruns lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
