About Gaschurn

The 141.6 km, 35 lifts and lift pass listed are those of the Silvretta Montafon ski area, shared by Schruns, St. Gallenkirch and Gaschurn. Multi-day Montafon Brandnertal passes also give access to neighbouring areas that are not linked on skis, including Schruns, Golm, Gargellen and Brand – Brandnertal. Gaschurn is a village in the upper Montafon, connected to the ski area by the Versettla, at the foot of the Silvretta peaks.

✍️ Our view of Gaschurn

Gaschurn offers 141.6 km of well-marked runs – a mid-sized ski area that is ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 35 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the crowds in high season. Gaschurn's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. Gaschurn's altitude (979 m at the base, 2,430 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Gaschurn is clearly expensive: €77 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. That is the price of excellence – but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Gaschurn lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
