Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Paganella focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 40 km of runs suit a 3- to 4-day stay perfectly, especially for families or for skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Paganella's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for building the basics of skiing with children. Paganella's altitude (1,040 m at the base, 2,125 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Paganella is clearly high: 73€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Paganella does not compete with the giants of skiing and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
