✍️ Our verdict on Laceno

Laceno is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 15 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Laceno's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Apennines for getting children started on skiing. Laceno's modest altitude, with the base at 1,109 m and the summit at 1,652 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before departure is strongly recommended. The 32€ day pass remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Laceno suits those who want to spend a good week without the final bill knocking them off their chair. In short: Laceno doesn't rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
