Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Ovindoli is a modest, low-key resort — 22 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and lift queues that barely exist. Ovindoli's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Apennines for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Ovindoli's altitude (1,413 m at the base, 2,056 m at the top) helps it keep a decent snow cover through the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. At €46, the day lift pass places Ovindoli among the mid-range resorts on budget — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Ovindoli does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
