Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Klausberg puts its emphasis on warm hospitality and closeness rather than impressive figures. Its 41 km of runs are ideal for a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly explore new terrain. Klausberg's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. With a summit at 2,510 m and a village at 1,050 m, snow cover at Klausberg is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause difficulties early in the season, but conditions recover quickly once serious snowfalls arrive. A stay at Klausberg is clearly expensive: €75 for a day pass, on top of accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the priciest in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but it's worth being aware of it before you go. In short: Klausberg doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
