Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Bonneval-sur-Arc focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 32 km of runs are ideal for a 3- to 4-day stay, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Technical terrain reigns supreme at Bonneval-sur-Arc: with 3 black runs and 7 red runs on offer, confident skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Off-piste and freeride are practised in often excellent conditions thanks to the altitude and the orientation of the slopes. As for snow reliability, Bonneval-sur-Arc is in a strong position with its summit at 3,000 m — even in capricious winters, the upper runs hold up well until April. The village at 1,800 m is also well placed to offer comfortable conditions from mid-December onwards. At €38 for a day lift pass, Bonneval-sur-Arc sits in the mid-range bracket on price — neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies this rate for most skiers. In short: Bonneval-sur-Arc doesn't compete with the ski giants and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
