Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Vichères-Liddes is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 15 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where you come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Vichères-Liddes' family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Vichères-Liddes' altitude (1,595 m at the base, 2,265 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. The day lift pass at €49 places Vichères-Liddes among the mid-range resorts on price: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short: Vichères-Liddes does not compete with the giants of skiing, and does not claim to. It is an honest destination, often underestimated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
