Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Vent is a modest, low-key resort: 15 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for peace and quiet, authenticity, and virtually no queues at the lifts. Vent's family-friendly reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for learning to ski with children. With a summit at 2,646 m and a village at 1,900 m, snow reliability at Vent is generally good from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause problems early in the season, but conditions recover quickly once the first decent snowfalls arrive. Budget-wise, a stay in Vent is clearly on the expensive side: 51€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the priciest in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Vent doesn't compete with the ski giants, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
