Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Schatzalp (Davos) is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 8 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. The family reputation of Schatzalp (Davos) is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for learning to ski with children. The altitude of Schatzalp (Davos) (1,609 m at the bottom, 2,352 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is wise to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 45€ day pass places Schatzalp (Davos) in the mid-range category on price: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the area and its facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Schatzalp (Davos) does not rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underestimated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
