About Port del Comte

Port del Comte lies in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees, above the Vall de Lord and Sant Llorenç de Morunys, less than two hours from Barcelona. Its 43 km ski area, from 1700 to 2,400 m, is spread across several sectors with wide runs, and has a beginner zone that families particularly like. On a clear day you can make out the silhouette of Montserrat rising above the sea of clouds. Snow cover is more variable than in the heart of the range, but more than 250 snow cannons help keep it going.

✍️ Our verdict on Port del Comte

A resort on a human scale, Port del Comte focuses on warm welcomes and proximity rather than impressive figures. Its 43 km of runs are well suited to a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially for families or skiers who don't need to keep changing their terrain. Port del Comte's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for children's first steps on skis. Port del Comte's altitude (1,700 m at the base, 2,400 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's best to check conditions before finalising a booking. At 44€, the day lift pass places Port del Comte among the mid-range resorts on budget: neither cheap nor exorbitant. For most skiers, the quality of the ski area and facilities justifies the price. In short, Port del Comte doesn't compete with the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
