A family-oriented resort, it offers a long green run, Bellavista, which circles the ski area over more than 3 km, and a hotel at the foot of the slopes at 2,000 m. Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Port Ainé is a low-key resort on a modest scale – 27 km of pistes for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Port Ainé's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a good-natured atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Pyrenees for getting children started on skiing. Port Ainé's altitude (1,650 m at the base, 2,440 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow through the middle of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it's worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. The €44 day lift pass places Port Ainé among the intermediate resorts on budget – neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short: Port Ainé doesn't compete with the giants of skiing and doesn't claim to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
