Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Plose focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 43 km of runs are ideal for a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Plose's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. With a summit at 2,505 m and a village at 1,039 m, Plose's snow cover is generally reliable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can create tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly once substantial snowfalls arrive. A stay at Plose is clearly expensive: €70 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the priciest in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but be aware of it before you go. In short: Plose does not compete with the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
