Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Pizol focuses on quality of welcome and proximity rather than impressive figures. Its 44 km of runs are perfect for a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially with family or for skiers who don't need to constantly renew their playground. Pizol's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Pizol's altitude (509 m at the bottom, 2,250 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Pizol is clearly on the expensive side: a day lift pass costs 73€, and accommodation and mountain restaurants are among the most expensive in the Alps. It's the price of excellence, but be aware of it before you go. In short: Pizol doesn't rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
