✍️ Our take on Monte Pora

Monte Pora is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 14 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for peace, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Monte Pora's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. The modest altitude of Monte Pora, with the base at 1,387 m and the summit at 1,880 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the safest months for good snow cover. Outside this window, checking snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. The 44€ day lift pass places Monte Pora in the mid-range category on price: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short: Monte Pora does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
