✍️ Our verdict on Borno

Borno is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 13 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. The terrain is serious at Borno, with 24 black runs and 72 red runs on offer, so confirmed skiers will find plenty to challenge them. Off-piste and freeride are practised here, often in excellent conditions thanks to the altitude and the exposure of the slopes. Borno's modest altitude, from 956 m at the village to 1,694 m at the summit, makes it sensitive to changes in the weather. January and February remain the safest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. At 37€, the day lift pass places Borno among the intermediate resorts on budget: neither cheap nor extortionate. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies the price for most skiers. In short, Borno does not compete with the giants of skiing, and does not claim to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
