Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability

✍️ Our verdict on Kellerjoch

Kellerjoch is a little-known resort on a modest scale – 14 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where you come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Kellerjoch's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for learning to ski with children. Kellerjoch's modest altitude – base at 1,352 m, summit at 1,887 m – makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the most reliable months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. The day lift pass at 46€ places Kellerjoch among the intermediate resorts in terms of budget – neither a bargain nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short: Kellerjoch doesn't rival the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
