Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Champorcher is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 14 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Technical terrain is king at Champorcher: with 25 black runs and 70 red on the menu, experienced skiers will find plenty to test themselves on. Off-piste and freeride are enjoyed here, often in excellent conditions thanks to the altitude and the aspect of the slopes. With a summit at 2,500 m and a village at 1,440 m, Champorcher's snow reliability is generally dependable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can create tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly with the first serious snowfalls. The €36 day lift pass places Champorcher in the mid-range category on budget: neither cheap nor exorbitant. The quality of the ski area and its facilities justifies this price for most skiers. In short, Champorcher doesn't rival the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
