Chaillol is a ski resort in the Southern Alps range, in Champsaur, Hautes-Alpes. The ski area stretches over 15 km of runs between 1,450 m and 2,400 m, served by 8 lifts. Day lift pass 29€ per adult.
* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.
The “Champsaur 3 Gliss” pass is shared with Saint-Léger-les-Mélèzes (as well as with the village resort of Laye): same price, valid at either one. These are, however, separate ski areas not linked by skis, so a pass only gives access to one resort per day. Chaillol is a family resort at 1,600 m in the Hautes-Alpes, with 35 km of runs in a preserved natural setting. Little known, it offers a quiet ski experience with plenty of sunshine. Authentic village with carefully crafted local architecture.
- Facing the Écrins peaks
- Renowned alpine sunshine

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Chaillol is a confidential resort on a modest scale: 15 km of runs for an intimate ski experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and virtually no queues at the lifts. The family reputation of Chaillol is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Southern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Chaillol’s altitude (1,450 m at the base, 2,400 m at the top) helps it keep a decent snow cover through midwinter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 29€ day lift pass remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Chaillol is for those who want to spend a good week without the final bill making them fall off their chair. In short: Chaillol does not compete with the giants of skiing, and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
