Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
A resort on a human scale, Betelberg (Lenk) focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 42 km of runs are well suited to a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially with family or for skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Betelberg (Lenk)'s family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The altitude of Betelberg (Lenk) (1,083 m at the bottom, 2,001 m at the top) allows it to maintain reasonable snow cover in the depths of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Betelberg (Lenk) is clearly on the expensive side: €67 for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Betelberg (Lenk) doesn't compete with the giants of skiing and doesn't pretend to. It is an honest, often underrated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
