Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Adelboden offers 86 km of well-marked runs, a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 22 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the flow in high season. Adelboden's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, a well-organised childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. Adelboden's altitude (1,353 m at the bottom, 2,200 m at the top) allows it to maintain reasonable snow cover throughout midwinter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay in Adelboden is clearly high: 76€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Adelboden lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
