Wengen is a ski resort in the Northern Alps range, in Jungfrau Region, Bern, Switzerland 🇨🇭. The ski area covers 101 km of runs between 1,274 m and 2,400 m, served by 23 lifts. Day pass 88€ per adult.
* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.
ℹ️ These figures refer to the Grindelwald – Wengen ski area, which is shared by several resorts: ski kilometres, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore describe the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
The 101 km, 23 lifts and pass price shown are those of the Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen ski area, shared by Grindelwald and Wengen. The Jungfrau Ski Region pass gives access to the three sectors of Grindelwald-Wengen, Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn, which are not linked by ski to one another. Run distribution is given as a percentage of the kilometres for each difficulty level. Wengen is a car-free village perched above the Lauterbrunnen valley, reached by a rack railway. Each January it hosts the Lauberhorn World Cup races, including the longest downhill on the circuit. The ski area is linked to Grindelwald via the Kleine Scheidegg.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Wengen offers 101 km of well-marked runs, a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 23 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the crowds in high season. Wengen has managed to preserve an authentic mountain-village identity, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, the unspoilt scenery and a friendly atmosphere that stands in contrast to the industrialisation of skiing in some large ski areas. Wengen's altitude (1,274 m at the village, 2,400 m at the top) allows it to maintain reasonable snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is wise to check conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Wengen is clearly expensive: 88€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Wengen lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
🏔️ Grindelwald – Wengen
Grindelwald and Wengen share the Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen ski area, 101 km of pistes at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Grindelwald is reached by the Eiger Express, while Wengen, a car-free village, is reached by rack railway. This ski area hosts the Lauberhorn downhill World Cup race every January. The breakdown of pistes is given as a percentage of kilometres by difficulty.
