Grindelwald is a ski resort in the Northern Alps range, in the Jungfrau Region, Bern, Switzerland 🇨🇭. The ski area stretches over 101 km of runs between 1,034 m and 2,400 m, served by 23 lifts. Day lift pass 88€ per adult.
* Price per adult for 1 day, public high-season rate. Reduced rates (online purchase, outside school holidays, families, children, seniors) are generally offered by the resort.
ℹ️ These figures refer to the Grindelwald – Wengen ski area, which is shared by several resorts: ski kilometres, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore describe the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
The 101 km, 23 lifts and pass shown are those of the Kleine Scheidegg – Männlichen ski area, shared by Grindelwald and Wengen. The Jungfrau Ski Region pass gives access to the three sectors of Grindelwald-Wengen, Grindelwald-First and Mürren-Schilthorn, which are not linked by ski. Run distribution is given as a percentage of the kilometres for each difficulty level. Grindelwald lies at the foot of the Eiger's north face, one of the most famous walls in the Alps. The Eiger Express, a tri-cable gondola among the most modern in the world, rises from the village to the Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen ski area, linked to Wengen. The view, facing the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau, is one of the most spectacular in Switzerland.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Grindelwald offers 101 km of well-marked runs, a mid-sized ski area that is ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 23 lifts are generally sufficient to handle the crowds in peak season. Grindelwald has managed to preserve an authentic mountain village identity, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, the unspoiled landscapes and a friendly atmosphere that stands apart from the industrialisation of skiing in some of the big ski areas. Grindelwald's altitude (1,034 m at the base, 2,400 m at the top) helps it maintain decent snow cover in midwinter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is worth checking conditions before finalising a booking. A stay in Grindelwald is clearly expensive: 88€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short, Grindelwald lives up to its promises. A Northern Alps resort that will suit most profiles without disappointing.
🏔️ Grindelwald – Wengen
Grindelwald and Wengen share the Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen ski area, 101 km of pistes at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Grindelwald is reached by the Eiger Express, while Wengen, a car-free village, is reached by rack railway. This ski area hosts the Lauberhorn downhill World Cup race every January. The breakdown of pistes is given as a percentage of kilometres by difficulty.
