ℹ️ These figures relate to the Villard-de-Lans – Corrençon-en-Vercors ski area, which is shared by several resorts: kilometres of runs, number of runs, lifts and lift pass are common to all of them. The values shown here and on the pages of neighbouring resorts therefore refer to the same ski area and the same lift pass: they are not added together.
Villard-de-Lans is the main resort of the Vercors at 1,050 m, on one of France's most beautiful limestone plateaux. Its 125 km ski area (with Corrençon) offers family skiing in an exceptional setting. The village hosted the French team at the 1968 Grenoble Olympics and has a rich history in the Resistance.

Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Villard-de-Lans offers 125 km of well-marked runs — a medium-sized ski area ideal for spending 4 to 5 days without ever doing exactly the same thing twice. The 21 lifts are generally sufficient to absorb the crowds in high season. Villard-de-Lans's family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, a well-run childcare service, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The altitude of Villard-de-Lans (1,050 m at the base, 2,050 m at the top) allows it to maintain decent snow cover in mid-winter. January and February are the most reliable; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The 30€ day pass remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Including accommodation, skiing and meals, Villard-de-Lans suits those who want a good week without the final bill making them fall off their chair. In short: Villard-de-Lans is one of those rare resorts that combines a genuine village, a sincerely family-friendly atmosphere and runs suited to everyone. It's hard to have a bad stay here.
