Based on the resort's altitude and historical snow reliability
Uttendorf – Weissee is a low-key resort on a modest scale: 23 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Uttendorf – Weissee's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for laying the foundations of skiing with children. With a summit at 2,600 m and a village at 1,482 m, snow reliability at Uttendorf – Weissee is generally dependable from January to the end of March. A few exceptionally mild winters can cause tension early in the season, but the situation recovers quickly once serious snowfalls arrive. A stay at Uttendorf – Weissee is clearly on the expensive side: 51€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and mountain restaurants that are among the priciest in the Alps. It is the price of excellence, but you should be aware of it before you go. In short: Uttendorf – Weissee does not rival the giants of skiing and does not pretend to. It is an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
