✍️ Our verdict on Turracher Höhe

A resort on a human scale, Turracher Höhe focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than on impressive figures. Its 42.7 km of runs are ideal for a 3- to 4-day stay, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly change their playground. Its family reputation is well deserved: dedicated beginner areas, well-organised childcare, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It is one of the most reassuring resorts in the Northern Alps for getting children started on skiing. Turracher Höhe's altitude (1,400 m at the bottom, 2,205 m at the top) helps it keep decent snow cover in the depths of winter. January and February are the most reliable months; in December and March, it is best to check conditions before finalising a booking. The budget for a stay at Turracher Höhe is clearly high: 69€ for a day lift pass, plus accommodation and high-altitude restaurants that are among the most expensive in the Alps. It is the price of excellence — but you should be aware of it before setting off. In short: Turracher Höhe does not rival the giants of skiing, and does not claim to. It is an honest destination, often underestimated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
