✍️ Our verdict on Stari vrh

Stari vrh is a low-key, modestly sized resort — 12 km of runs for an intimate skiing experience, far from the bustle of the big resorts. This is where people come for calm, authenticity and no queues at the lifts. Stari vrh's family reputation is well earned: dedicated beginner areas, well-groomed green runs and a friendly atmosphere at the foot of the lifts. It's one of the most reassuring resorts in the Medium mountains category for laying the foundations of skiing with children. The modest altitude of Stari vrh — base at 580 m, summit at 1,217 m — makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the surest months for optimal snow cover. Outside that window, checking the snow reports before setting off is strongly advised. The day lift pass at 29€ remains reasonable for the quality of the ski area on offer. Counting accommodation, skiing and meals, Stari vrh suits those who want a good week without the final bill knocking them off their chair. In short: Stari vrh doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't claim to. It's an honest destination, often underrated, that deserves to be (re)discovered.
