Did you know?
The Buisses resort, created in 1975, is the newest in the Alpes-Maritimes. It depends on the spectacular hilltop village of Roubion, clinging to its cliff for centuries: founded around 800 BC by the Celto-Ligurians, it still retains its 12th-century ramparts.
In 2014, a Gaulish treasure 2,300 years old was discovered in the commune, in the heart of the Mercantour.

✍️ Our view of Roubion-Les Buisses

A resort on a human scale, Roubion-Les Buisses focuses on the quality of its welcome and its closeness rather than impressive figures. Its 30 km of runs are ideal for a stay of 3 to 4 days, especially for families or skiers who don't need to constantly find new terrain. Roubion-Les Buisses has kept the identity of an authentic mountain village, far from the concrete resorts of the 1970s. People come here for the clean air, the unspoilt scenery and a friendly atmosphere that stands apart from the industrialisation of skiing in some large ski areas. The moderate altitude of Roubion-Les Buisses, starting at 1,300 m and rising to 1,800 m, makes it sensitive to climate variations. January and February remain the surest months for optimal snow cover. Outside this window, checking snow reports before you leave is strongly advised. With a day lift pass at just 18€, Roubion-Les Buisses is one of the most affordable destinations in France. For families on a tight budget or skiers who want to make the most of their days without breaking the bank, it's an honest and often overlooked choice. In short: Roubion-Les Buisses doesn't compete with the giants of skiing, and doesn't pretend to. It's an honest, often underestimated destination that deserves to be (re)discovered.
